I thought you said Newgrounds still work?

YTF43 (talkcontribs)

I didn't. You probably got mixed up with someone else. And I don't use Newgrounds anyway.

Master Chief (talkcontribs)
YTF43 (talkcontribs)

Uh, thanks. I might check it out sometime.

HTML5 dosen't count?

Isn't that consider to be superior to Adobe Flash Player.

Kringe (talkcontribs)

It is, but it doesn't compartible with OG Flash player games.

S012891 (talkcontribs)

Well, it’s been awhile. But at least they’re alternatives, right?

S012891 (talkcontribs)

I have a PC and it doesn’t really neeed flash for that right?

Master Chief (talkcontribs)

HTML5 is kinda more limited and a pain to port Flash games to.

S012891 (talkcontribs)

Well, how am I supposed to play them after 2020? I know this page said it’s impossible others and this says there are some hints how to do it. And I just got a PC 2 months ago.

Master Chief (talkcontribs)

keep flash on it and stop Chrome from updating, you can keep flash by dismissing the notification about flash with the x button.

SpazJR61 (talkcontribs)

or use BlueMaxima's Flashpoint. You don't need to download 500 GB stuff, just use the Infinity version.

S012891 (talkcontribs)

That sounds pretty simple. I just have to prevent chrome from updating any further. And just simply download the infinity version of flashpoint. I just updated my PC last week. Does that count?

Master Chief (talkcontribs)

No, you just need to find a way to stop chrome from updating, a quick Google search will show you how to do so.

S012891 (talkcontribs)

That's what I just said. Stop Chrome from updating any further. It's similar to what you said. Adobe Flash hasn't been discontinued yet, right?

Master Chief (talkcontribs)

Unless you uninstalled it, Flash Player should still be on your computer and available to use with browsers supporting it.

SpazJR61 (talkcontribs)

Using outdated browser is not a good idea.

Master Chief (talkcontribs)

That's what virtual machines are for.

SpazJR61 (talkcontribs)

I said, it's still not a good idea. Plus, you can't even access some of the websites with using new protocols.

SpazJR61 (talkcontribs)

And Flashpoint is clearly enough. The ultimate edition's file size is more than 500 GB.

SpazJR61 (talkcontribs)

You don't need that. Flashpoint is better.

Master Chief (talkcontribs)

Flashpoint doesn't have every flash game, using outdated Chrome is better.

SpazJR61 (talkcontribs)

No, it's not. Using outdated browser doesn't even let you enter all of the websites.

Caulipower (talkcontribs)

I have Ruffle.

Dorothy Nightingale (talkcontribs)

There are tons of things that you can't archive correctly with flash archives/collections. Some of these games have a code that if it was played outside of that website, it ceases to function.

There are even multi-asset games, like Kisekae, which are much harder to preserve. While HTML5 is easier to work with and is less laggy, it isn't as open as Flash. The biggest problem with Flash is that unless you play on like an projector, the games tend to be laggy in certain times. Shockwave fell out of use and was made with Adobe Director, which also got discontinued.

Adobe Flash, the animation program, isn't dead yet, as it rebranded to Adobe Animate after the Edge Series being discontinued (the Edge Series remains as the shortest-lived Adobe programs)

Caulipower (talkcontribs)

Yep, but the good news is that Ruffle will be updated so it can play more flash games.

S012891 (talkcontribs)

What's ruffle?

Caulipower (talkcontribs)
SpazJR61 (talkcontribs)

Also flashpoint: Exists.

Nicktendolean (talkcontribs)

lol.

Ruffle is what we need to use so we can play flash in a browser past January 2021.

Master Chief (talkcontribs)

So far every game I've tried either doesn't work at all or has a glitch that makes you stuck on the title screen forever.

Caulipower (talkcontribs)

Actually, it's in development, so, expect it to be updated so we can play more games.

I tried it on some games, and it works fine on some games.

Goodbye old friend

You're an outdated and have security issues, but you give me a ton of memories.

AlvaroNovaes-BR (talkcontribs)

F. Even i like Arisen's Adobe a room creator from Pawn Community that uses Adobe Flash (If you create/log-in into a Capcom ID/Pawn Community account).

SpazJR61 (talkcontribs)

Change.org is useless and unironically, it doesn't change anything.

SpazJR61 (talkcontribs)

To be fair, Flash Player is extremely dated and filled with tons of security issues.
Also, we have Flashpoint. It not only give us old flash games, it also give us old Shockwave and Unity games.
