Just Dance 2016 is the seventh official game in the Just Dance franchise. The game was revealed at E3 2015 on June 15, 2015, and was released on October 20, 2015 in North America and two days later in Europe and Australia.

Bad Qualities

  1. The first thing to start off is that the scoring on many songs (ex. Rabiosa, This Is How We Do, Born This Way etc.) are broken and very bugged.
  2. The World Dance Floor is noticeably missing from 8th-generation versions of the game; even after it appeared for the 8th-gen boots of the 2 previous games.
  3. Just Dance Unlimited's promotion:
    1. Many songs from previous games were promoted to be on the service but they don't appear on the service. Here are some examples:
      1. "Rock Lobster" by the B52's from Just Dance 4.
      2. "On the Floor" by Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull from Just Dance 4, although it did return for Season 4 of Just Dance 2021.
      3. "I Love It" by Icona Pop featuring Charli XCX from Just Dance 2015, although it did return for Season 1 of Just Dance 2022.
    2. The ability to redeem codes for the service is completely pointless especially the fact you can only redeem one code in total of the game, and that's via a manual that displays a free code to you.
  4. Unlike the last previous games, which had many popular songs on the tracklist such as Hot N Cold, Tik Tok, California Gurls, Super Bass, Applause and Problem. The tracklist for the game is very lazy and contains many less popular songs such as You're the One That I Want, Rabiosa, Drop the Mambo and Irish Meadow Dance.
  5. When you unlock an avatar on 8th-generation consoles, many avatars (ex. "Come on Eileen") that aren't even featured in the boot of the game can be seen.
    • These avatars however can be unlocked with Mojo coins on 7th-generation consoles.
    • This is a case in Just Dance 2017's 8th-gen boot as well.
  6. The Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are basically Just Dance 2015 with an updated tracklist and minor changes, similar to EA Sport's FIFA Legacy Edition.
    • Additionally, these versions are prone to crashing and bugging.
  7. Many alternates such as Born This Way (Nerd Version) are not available on PS3 and Xbox 360 boots of the game yet they are available on the Wii.
  8. Many mashups (ex. Same Old Love, Hangover (Bababa)) are off-sync.
  9. Uplay rewards are very lazy as it only gives you the ability to have unlockable avatars and play a Just Dance 2015 mashup called "You're On My Mind".
    • Another weird thing is that after playing "You're On My Mind", the avatar for the song is not unlocked. But on Just Dance 2015 and Just Dance Now, it is unlocked.
  10. In November 2016, many Just Dance Unlimited mashups (ex. Same Old Love) were removed from the game for unknown reasons.

Good Qualities

  1. A lot of older and newer artists made their return/first appearance to the franchise in this game.
    • Selena Gomez made her return as she has been absent from the franchise since Just Dance 4 with "Same Old Love".
    • Hatsune Miku made her first appearance in the game with "Ievan Polkka".
  2. New graphics and new modes (including Dance Quest) have been added to the franchise, and they will eventually be continued to be reused until Just Dance 2018.
  3. "You Can Never Tell", which was gonna be on Just Dance 2015 but was pulled out of the tracklist for unknown reasons, was finally added to the franchise via this game.
