Intergalactic Cage Match is a 1987 wrestling game developed by Sculptured Software and published by Mastertronic under their seldom-used Entertainment USA brand for the Commodore 64 and the ZX Spectrum.

Why It Sucks

  1. The game involves going to the cage walls and climbing them, and the whole wrestling part is entirely pointless.
  2. If you're climbing up a cage, the opponent can't shake you off it, and vice versa, despite the game's instructions stating otherwise.
  3. Unresponsive controls. A majority of the moves listed in the tape inlay don't work.
  4. If the player wins against the computer opponent, they'll just fight the same opponent again. The only way to change opponents is by losing on purpose and letting the computer opponent climb the cage.
  5. Awful music in the Commodore 64 version.
  6. The animations are very glitchy, and sometimes, the characters' sprites appear as if they fell apart.
  7. False advertising: The cover features a referee and more than two fighters in the cage, something which is absent in the game.


While no known reviews of the Commodore 64 version of Intergalactic Cage Match existed at the time of the game's release, the ZX Spectrum version received negative reviews from the various gaming magazines, with Crash giving the game a score of 15%, and Sinclair User giving a rating of 2 out of 10.
