These developers are robots. They still aren't tired of creating licensed games. BAD licensed games.

Torus Games is an Australian video game developer founded in 1994 by Bill McIntosh, located in Bayswater, Victoria. The studio mainly produces games based on movies, TV shows or toy-lines.

They began developing their first game in 1994, a Game Boy and Sega Game Gear game based on the film Stargate, published by Acclaim Entertainment.

In twenty-six years after their debut, they made over 120 games in total.

Notable Games

Why They and Their Games Suck

Them

  1. This is another company who are looking for naive people who would buy a game with questionable quality. Since the main audience is parents (and children) who don't know what they're buying for their child, the developer's tactic is that they don't have to put much effort into anything. Because they are aware that they will buy because of the license they have used.
  2. Alongside Phoenix Games, Blast! Entertainment or Team6, they focused on quantity over quality. Over the years they developed over a one hundred and twenty games.
  3. They've ruined their license for Dreamworks' animated movies with their hopeless quality. Previously, the license was used by Activision, which made good use of the potential due to the experienced studio (talking about Toys For Bob) who made a remake of first three Spyro games.
  4. The developers are not very original, as they're ripping-off from the better ones. For example, Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard rip-offs Pikmin and Touring Car Champions rip-offs TOCA Touring Car Championship (even the title is very similar).

Their Games

  1. Their games have a poor grasp of the source material, especially in Penguins of Madagascar or Sonic X.
  2. The graphics look awfully cheap. The number of polygons is pitifully small, textures look like they've been cut from a plywood curve, and cutscenes that look like they were from the PS2-PS3 era. The biggest example of a graphic mess is the one from Touring Car Champions, even it was released for the MS-DOS.
  3. Boring and repetitive gameplay, limited to one activity throughout one of the given games.
  4. Their games are too expensive, at least for the quality of the product.
  5. They also don't show off with artificial intelligence, especially in Monster Jam and Ben 10.
  6. The music is either a cacophony or a downloaded soundtrack from the original source material.
  7. The controls are imprecise, mainly in racing games.
  8. The games are just short and can be completed quickly without rushing.
  9. Incorrect lip-syncing.
  10. Absolutely no replay value due to the sloppy and boring gameplay.

The Only Redeeming Quality

  1. They made some good games such as Duke Nukem Advance, Scooby-Doo! and the Spooky Swamp, and some others.
