Fury Strike is a fighting game on Steam that has an 80s theme and uses 2.5D cell-shaded graphics. The game was created by students at Full Sail University in collaboration with Rooster Teeth.

Why It’s a Strike for this Game

  1. The game doesn't get past the logos as once all the logos are shown, the game freezes on you requiring to use task manager to close the game.
  2. When the game does get past the title screen, the game has a bland layout with a bland menu and bland health bar graphics.
  3. You have to use a controller as the game doesn't have any inputs for keyboard controls when the game starts.
  4. The game's logo is a generic 80's style logo kinda similar to the Nintendo World Championship logo from the late 80's early 90's.
  5. The fighting is just button mashing as there's no real strategy and no combos.
  6. The graphics kinda look pretty bland.
  7. The stages are pretty uninspired and the same can be said for the characters.
  8. There are some pretty long load times.
  9. The game haven't been updated since 2018 and only had one update and that update didn't fix any of the flaws.
  10. For a fighting game, it's pretty slow compared to others.

The Only Redeeming Quality

  1. It is entirely free and doesn't cost money like the other games of its type.

Reception

The game has mostly negative reviews on steam which criticized the game play, controls, and the game not loading.

Trivia

  1. The community section on the game's steam page haves a lot of pictures of Shampoo from Ranma 1/2.
  2. There is a full series on this game's development on YouTube on how to make an arcade game with the last video being the arcade cab itself.
